PMG-Certified Banknotes and NGC-Certified Coins Highlight Singapore Sale

World banknotes graded by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) and world coins graded by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®) are featured in Mavin International’s upcoming Auction 55 sale in Singapore. Online bidding is now open and ends on November 21, 2020.
A set of 10 Singapore, Board of Commissioners of Currency ND (1999) 100 Dollars graded PMG 65 Gem Uncirculated EPQ to PMG 67 Superb Gem Uncirculated EPQ has an estimate of SGD 30,000 to SGD 32,000 (about $22,000 to $23,400 USD). They feature nine solid serial numbers from 111111 to 999999, as well as the 1 million serial number. They show Yusof bin Ishak, the first President of Singapore, who served from 1965 to 1970.

- a set of two Singapore, Monetary Authority ND (2005) 10 Dollars with solid-3 serial numbers, both graded PMG 65 Gem Uncirculated EPQ, with an estimate of SGD 12,000 to SGD 13,000 (about $8,800 to $9,500 USD)
- a Singapore, Board of Commissioners of Currency ND (1987) 10,000 Dollars graded PMG 50 About Uncirculated, with an estimate of SGD 10,000 to SGD 11,000 (about $7,300 $8,000 USD)
- an India - Bombay 1899-1901 20 Rupees graded PMG 25 Very Fine, with an estimate of SGD 10,000 to SGD 11,000 (about $7,300 $8,000 USD)
- a US 1974 $100 Federal Reserve Note (Chicago) Specimen graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated, with an estimate of SGD 3,000 to SGD 3,200 (about $2,200 to $2,300 USD)
- a US 1974 $1 Federal Reserve Note (Philadelphia) Specimen graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated, with an estimate of SGD 1,400 to SGD 1,500 (about $1,000 to $1,100 USD)
- a France, Banque de France 1957-1958 5,000 Francs Specimen graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated NET, with an estimate of SGD 950 to SGD 1,000 (about $700 to $740 USD)
- a Straits Settlements / British Administration 1931-1934 5 Dollars graded PMG 25 Very Fine, with an estimate of SGD 800 to SGD 850 (about $590 to $620 USD)
- a Malaysia, Bank Negara ND (2001) 50 Ringgit with a solid-9 serial number graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated EPQ, with an estimate of SGD 600 to SGD 650 (about $440 to $480 USD)
- a Malaya / Japanese Occupation WWII ND (1942-1944) 10 Dollars graded PMG 40 Extremely Fine, with an estimate of SGD 280 to SGD 290 (about $205 to $210 USD)
- a Malaya / British Administration 1941 50 Cents graded PMG 65 Gem Uncirculated EPQ, with an estimate of SGD 160 to SGD 170 (about $120 to $125 USD)
A rare US 1879 $3 graded NGC PF 63 Cameo is the most anticipated coin in the sale, with an estimate of SGD 28,000 to SGD 29,000 (about $24,500 to $21,200 USD). Although the Philadelphia Mint released roughly 82,000 $3 gold pieces in 1878, there are only about 3,000 of the 1879 issue. The sharp drop in mintage is evidenced by the NGC Census, which has a recorded 5,000 certified 1878 examples and only 400 of the 1879.

- a Mongolia 1976 Gold 750 Tugrik Przewalski Horses graded NGC MS 66, with an estimate of SGD 2,700 to SGD 2,800 (about $2,000 to $2,050 USD)
- a Straits Settlements 1903B Raised Mintmark Silver Dollar graded NGC AU 58, with an estimate of SGD 700 to SGD 750 (about $510 to $550 USD)
- a Thailand CS1236(1874) Half Att graded NGC MS 64, with an estimate of SGD 600 to SGD 650 (about $440 to $480 USD)
- a China 1904 Kiangnan L&M-257 HAH CH Silver Dollar graded NGC AU Details, with an estimate of SGD 600 to SGD 650 (about $440 to $480 USD)
- a Straits Settlements 1890H 50 Cents graded NGC XF Details, with an estimate of SGD 480 to SGD 500 (about $350 to $370 USD)
- a Straits Settlements 1916B 20 Cents graded NGC MS 63, with an estimate of SGD 400 to SGD 420 (about $290 to $310 USD)
- a Straits Settlements 1886 50 Cents graded NGC XF Details, with an estimate of SGD 380 to SGD 400 (about $280 to $290 USD)
- a Sarawak 1896H 1/4 Cent graded NGC MS 63 BN, with an estimate of SGD 280 to SGD 290 (about $205 to $210 USD)
- a Netherlands East Indies 1786 Cent graded NGC XF 40 BN, with an estimate of SGD 200 to SGD 210 (about $145 to $150 USD)
